An Interview with American Anarchist Leslie Fish

Leslie Fish is a famous American Anarchist. She is known as a folk singer, a writer of filk music, an author and speaker, as well as a political activist. Here is a link to a recent interview.

Leslie Fish has been a folk singer since she was sixteen years old. She has been a filker since the sixties. She is a member of the Wobblies, a worker’s union, and has even written some of the songs in the Red Songbook. But most important of all, Leslie Fish is an American Anarchist who supports the tea party movement and Ron Paul for president.

In the interview, Leslie Fish quotes the opening lines of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense in order to explain her position to the uninitiated:

Some writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness…

In the interview, Leslie Fish explains in detail how through a process of outreach, anarchists can change the minds of the vast majority in the United States who currently support government involvement in their lives. When enough people agree that they are better off without government, then a movement of massive passive resistance will render government obsolete.
